Tashunko

She was brought to us by Naidenyshev from the First Horse Army breeding farm. At that time she was three years old. We were astonished not at her movements but at the purity of her joints, the strength of her legs. She was the horse we chose with mind and hot with heart.

Tashunko Uashta (she was named so by the Indians from North Carolina reservation who came to see us) was trained as a racehorse, but she did not show any good results at races and thus at the age of free she was sent to the dam department. They did not want to gave us her at the breeding farm, but Naidenyshev, feeling that he found a good horse, managed to convince them.

We knew what we were buying as Alexander advisedly wanted to train a very difficult horse. Tashunko was that very horse he wanted. She was injured mentally to a great extent. As she has 9/10 of Thoroughbred blood she is very nervous, spirited and extremely or even excessively sensible and susceptive.

When she was brought to us, she was fully confident that we would treat her in the same way that others did, and that’s why she was so wicked and aggressive at the outset. She bit terribly, attacked men and fought.

Alexander spent a great deal of time and efforts on her training and education. Honestly speaking, I couldn’t do this, couldn’t stand it and finally would give up, but he managed to make a kind, docile and gentle horse of her, and all this just for two years.

As a matter of fact Tashunko is a horse of great courage, strength and wit. That’s why she can easily perform the most difficult elements of Haute Ecole (allowed to be performed at her age). Her collection without a bridle is perfect. Her Spanish trot enchanted all the masters that saw her.

Her joints are still intact and uninjured. The horse has enormous abilities. She is very clever and beautiful.
